What is online therapy?*
click here to enquire for in-person therapy

Online therapy is essentially the use of common technologies (e.g. laptop, phone) as mediums of communication to facilitate individuals to unpack and overcome their individual presenting issues with a professional. Video-call is preferred to allow you to have full immersion in each session.

You will need to have access to a stable internet connection and laptop with webcam (or smartphone) to participate in online therapy.

I offer online therapy that fits your schedule (e.g. also available during lunch hour, after-office hours). On average, sessions are 55 minutes long. I usually work with my clients on a weekly basis, and transit to fortnightly sessions at a later stage. You can tailor the frequency and duration that we work together. It all depends on your specific needs and goals.

Who will benefit from online therapy?

Research has indicated online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for a variety of issues. Online therapy is additionally beneficial for those who:

1) travel often

2) are located where therapy isn't available/easily accessible

3) have issues (e.g. health, anxiety, depression etc.) that make it difficult for you to leave home

4) prefer discretion (i.e. not to be seen entering & waiting in clinic, or explaining to others where you're going)

5) have a hectic schedule (e.g. prefer not to commit additional commute/waiting time, especially during work hours)

6) prefer to engage in therapy from the comfort of your own home or space, via familiar technological devices

There are certain issues, presentations, and locations where online therapy will not be suitable.
